“Pradeep provided some much-needed clarity of thought over inclusion and diversity… managing to get the right balance of information, participation and humour. Brilliant to hear from someone with an actor’s ability to engage, a director’s eye to shape and form a cohesive story, and the psychology training to delve into a difficult subject with clarity and insight.” — Participant on an in-house EDI Strategy Development Session.
Often, leadership training fails because it stays in the realm of theory. Pradeep Jeyaratnam-Joyner’s approach is different. Drawing on his early career as an actor, he treats the training environment as a “rehearsal room”—a psychologically safe space where executives can test out new behaviours, navigate healthy conflict, and make their mistakes before the commercial stakes are real.
This environment isn’t just a promise; his own 360-degree feedback notes that “a sense of welcome, support, inclusivity and belonging is at the centre of the culture and community” he builds.
As a Business Psychologist, Pradeep has zero interest in corporate buzzwords or copy-paste solutions. He blends critical thinking, creativity, compassion and enthusiasm. He uses this unique diagnostic edge to systematically break problems down, uncovering the actual root of a cultural issue rather than just treating the symptoms.
He brings this fiercely practical mindset to his work with global clients such as XPS, Rabobank, The Prudential Regulatory Authority, and Save the Children, as well as to Aspire Leadership itself.
As Aspire Leadership’s Head of Company Development, Pradeep also guided Aspire through its B-Corp certification and our strategy to embed our values. He leads the continuous skills development of our team to ensure consistency and quality. His grounded, human approach is why his peers describe him as the “heart of the team”, noting that his “wit, sense of fun and playfulness is infectious”.
Pradeep knows that leadership is hard and often messy. He doesn’t just teach strategic governance; he actively practises it. Sitting as a Non-Executive Director for East End Homes and as Deputy Chair of the Management Board at Arc Theatre, he is responsible for the rigorous management of risk, holding executives to account, and providing assurance on regulatory compliance.
He knows firsthand that these hard governance metrics fail if the underlying culture is broken—which is why he treats interpersonal dynamics and psychological safety as fundamental tools for enterprise survival. (He also held a 16-year tenure as a Trustee and Chair of the St Paul’s Arts Trust, the parent charity of The Space Theatre).
He is equally committed to bridging the gap between academia and the corporate frontline, actively teaching the next generation of practitioners as a former Associate Lecturer on the MSc Business Psychology programme at the University of East London.
Holding an MSc with Distinction in Business Psychology, Pradeep is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership. He is a certified practitioner in Strengthscope, Saville Wave, and Tracom Social Styles, Psychometrics.
Pradeep’s insights have been featured in HR World and on podcasts including A Little Bit Radical and Journey To Transformation. You can also find more of his thoughts on our blog.
He does talk about cats a lot. As he does here:
Pradeep is also the Co-Artistic Director of the theatre company A Monkey with Cymbals and directed their audio production of The Notorious Mrs Ebbsmith in sponsored by Aspire Leadership as a fundraiser for Refuge.
