The National Forest

Following a team planting day with the wonderful National Forest, one of our corporate charity partners, an idea was developed to deliver training to the entire organisation.

Established in 1991, the National Forest is one of the boldest environment initiatives in the country – the creation of a new wooded landscape in the Midlands. For more than a quarter of a century, a tree planting revolution has been taking place, with more than nine and half million trees now planted, changing a scarred ex-industrial landscape from black to green.

The National Forest is a place of transformation. A living example of sustainability in action, it is showing that life is better with trees and that a greener, healthier and more sustainable future is possible.

Over 3 different dates our trainers Pradeep Jeyaratnam-Joyner and Kathy Powers-Moore delivered fun, interactive sessions covering a range of project management skills. Every part of the organisation attended, from admin, marketing and fundraising, through to community rangers, project and programme managers, and woodland advisors. Whilst up there Pradeep and Kathy were taken on a quick tour to see some of their work and estate.

By partnering with the National Forest, and delivering meaningful training, we have become part of their invaluable network of support. Support that is helping to create a forest environment, support our forest communities and ensure a sustainable forest economy. They call this network: Mycelium – the enterprise ecosystem of the National Forest. We are proud to be a Mycelium partner.
